UNDERWATER Collection
for AJETO Glassworks

The UNDREWATER collection of vase-objects will take you to the depths of the sea full of colourful life, textures and reflections. Designer František Jungvirt was inspired by marine animals, plants and water landscapes. But also the tradition of metallurgical glass forming. The colourful and unbridled postmodernism of the outstanding glass artist Bořek Šípek, who co-founded the AJETO glassworks in 1994 and also worked there as an artist. He educated a new generation of not only glass artists, but above all also local craftsmen.

František Jungvirt is a glass artist, designer and glass painter. He is a fresh graduate of the glass studio at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague. In his work, he most often returns to the most classic legacies of Czech glassmaking, which he combines with new impulses. In his works he tries to push the technical and visual boundaries of the field. His works are represented in galleries and private collections, both at home and abroad. In the last four years, his works have been exhibited in New York, London, Paris, Zurich, Jerusalem, Milan, Lommel and Japan.
